Authorities and tourism businesses are actively expanding services to attract Middle Eastern, CIS, and Muslim travellers in light of the upcoming merger of Da Nang and Quang Nam.
Part of Da Nang
Da Nang is upgrading its services to better serve international visitors. As of May 2025, the city has 1,290 accommodation facilities with over 46,000 rooms, including 111 premium hotels from global brands like InterContinental and Marriott.
There are 563 travel agencies (343 international), with CIS-focused firms such as Crystal Bay and Anex now based in the city.
Over 6,400 tour guides, including 4,600 for international tourists, support the growing demand. Key attractions include Ba Na Hills and Than Tai Hot Spring Park. Golf tourism is thriving, with 171,200 rounds played in 2024.
To welcome Muslim travellers, Da Nang offers over 30 Halal or Muslim-friendly restaurants and over 20 popular vegan and vegetarian spots.
A Halal-certified kitchen
The Da Nang-Quang Nam merger boosts infrastructure with 2 airports, 3 seaports, and 3 UNESCO sites, creating a seamless mix of beach and cultural tourism.
To attract Muslim travellers, businesses are encouraged to follow Halal standards, including:
– Rooms: no alcohol, Kiblat direction, Quran, and prayer mats.
– Dining: Halal kitchens, Ramadan dining options (Sahur and Iftar).
– Public areas: prayer rooms, wudhu facilities, ventilation.
Additional steps include staff training on Islamic customs, Arabic/Russian signage, upgraded hygiene, and certified Halal food.
It’s also advised to consider cultural preferences when dealing with Middle Eastern and CIS tourists, avoiding pressure in negotiation, and respecting flexible meeting times.
Da Nang is working to become a global tourism hub by improving services and targeting key markets like the Middle East, CIS, and Muslim travellers. This not only drives growth and cultural exchange but also boosts the city’s international profile.
